Description

Semi-detached house with 68sqm and a large terrace with views over Caldas de Monchique.
Consisting of two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, living room, kitchen, patio.
There are two accesses to the house: from below through a staircase surrounded by terraced flowerbeds with fruit trees and from above through a secondary path with access to the house.
Possessing one of the richest forests in the Algarve, rich in cork oaks, eucalyptus, chestnut trees, among others, Monchique also has this forest as its distinctive landmark, which it makes known to its visitors through safaris, zoological and natural parks and pedestrian expeditions.
In the historic center of Monchique, the houses have the traditional Algarvian architecture in the white walls, stonework, stains of color on the doors and windows, although they display the typical skirted chimneys, so different from the coast. The fact that they climb steep hills, that the narrow streets open up new perspectives on the verdant mountain range at every step, gives them, however, a certain exoticism, heightened by the presence of camel trees and hydrangeas, fruit trees, evoking gardens and orchards. Justification for an extended tour of discovering a different corner of the Algarve.
Monchique is known for its pig farming, proof of which are the well-known sausages made with pork (sauce, black pudding made with flour or farinheira, black pudding and chorizo) and hams, exhibited annually at the Feira dos Enchidos and Feira do Presunto, respectively.
The arbutus brandy produced in this region is also widely known, with its own brand, which attracts people from all over to taste it. Liqueurs made with products from the region are also in demand. The most typical liqueur drink in Monchique is called Melosa, which uses arbutus brandy.
