Plot of rustic land located near Rocha da Pena, between Salir and Benafim.
The total land area is 9,900sqm and is made up of various traditional trees from the area such as cork oaks and pines.
On the plot of land there is a small stream and borders with a dam.
The land has some inclination, however access is easy via two municipal roads.
Rocha da Pena, located in the transition zone between Barrocal (to the south) and Serra Algarvia (to the north), is a plateau that is approximately 2 km long and a cliff about 50 meters high. The maximum altitude is 479 meters.
It is a protected area of great natural beauty, both from a geological and biodiversity point of view.
Nearby are the villages of Benafim, Salir and Penina, where you can find several cafes, restaurants and grocery stores.
Nearby you can find several trails, ideal for walking, such as the protected areas of Fonte da Benémola, Rocha da Pena and Malhão.
The village of Salir, located 13 km from the county seat, the city of Loulé, has good accessibility. From Vila de Salir to the beautiful beaches of the Algarve coast or to Faro International Airport, it is approximately 25 km away, and is served by the EN 124 (Silves-Mértola), with good connections to the neighboring municipalities of São Brás de Alportel, Silves and, to the north, Almodovar (Alentejo).
The history of this village goes on for many years. It was once inhabited by the Celts, but the Arabs were the ones who gave it greater importance, in it they built the Castle of Salir of which today only ruins remain and which is believed to have been burned down and rebuilt twice. From that time on, Salir became an important and strategic point in the conquest of the Algarve, which was only completed, standardized and legalized in 1297. Salir was elevated to the status of town on 20 May 1993.
