Here a stream flows that sometimes forms a lagoon, appreciated by children. Both beaches are very popular with surfers and bodyboarders.
The nearest town is Aljezur, about eleven kilometres away, a charming village in the western Algarve, surrounded by natural beauty and rich in history and culture, where you can visit the medieval castle, the old town and the local museum, or enjoy the views of the Atlantic coast and the Monchique mountains.
It is about thirty-five minutes from the city of Lagos, about twenty-five minutes from the village of Sagres, about an hour and twenty minutes from Faro Airport and about three hours from Lisbon.
Bordeira is located on the Costa Vicentina, the strip of coastline between Odeceixe and Burgau is a different Algarve, where the preserved nature has a strong and wild character, which translates into landscapes of stunning grandeur.
This area is part of the Natural Park that begins further north in the southwest of Alentejo and constitutes the largest stretch of Portuguese coastline subject to protection. The beaches follow one another, sometimes with extensive sands as far as the eye can see, or smaller ones framed by grandiose cliffs of schist and limestone. The sea, rough, produces a natural symphony, which serves as the soundtrack to this walk by the sea.
